Free Bass Music

Here is a great little idea for your next music project.. set up a blog and gently update it with original content for a little while, after you have started to get noticed and developed a few followers/readers why not release your own album.... don't sell it... just give it away, and if your not giving enough away; tell the world how you've promoted the whole process, and how successful the techniques are... well, thats an idea that seems to work.

Id and Baobinga, two highly acclaimed producers turned bloggers started bass music blog in 2009 to promote there work and those of there fellow DJ friends. They have just released (yesterday) The Bass Music sessions for a little donation to a good cause or free if you cant afford that.... and let me say its worth the little sign up process. (GET IT HERE) The tunes are blend of afro beat, two step and bass wobble madness, with a few hip hop samples throw in for good measure. You can tell I've only listened to it once soo far, because I feel it is not exactly ground breaking and definitely wont make it into the "Hit Parade" for a little while but it has created a lot of blog buzz and is definitely something to have on your iPod. I just wonder how long it will last. From a blogger/muzeo point of view it is very interesting to see how they are documenting the process of the whole album release, The Dairy of an album launch is giving fans a behind the scene view of how a band goes about getting itself "noticed" in these modern times.

Artistic Direction??

Its been so long I have completely forgotton how to write; Not! (though there have been a few mails to request news of me, as I slip away into anonimity, but dont worry people, Im here and alive just wondering where to take it all)
I've been thinking; who is this Sam fella anyway, why cant he just show his face and clambour into reality's bright lights in a tiny effort to make a connection with the world??
and where is this whole thing going? six months of sober attempts at living have resulted in very little; are artistic endevours feuled by drug and drink or is it just hard to make things?
a finished product is never finished untill you are satisfied with it? so am I too much of a perfectionist or is this just an advancement of my artistic self? or an improvement on my whole self?

I have been spending a bit of time messing around with fruity loops, here is my first track, Im not happy with it, Its not great? but it will doo, maybe in two years time I will be able to look back and laugh at my feeble attempt, or maybe it will be a snapshot of anather one of my crazy periods.

Space-D - Sam A. Muze

Space-D (too mashed-up to see mix) - Sam A. Muze

Where to go from now???
Keep trying to make better music??
Launch a viral campaign about this track, and make myself a worldwide blog hit with absouloutly nothing??
Will people understand the Po-Mo irony of it all anyway??
Find someone to sing on this track?? buy a microphone?? Buy a Mac book??
Start a new art project??
Start a sticker project on the IOW?? - I have to design a new logo! any help, any one??
Learn to drive?? (this is a serious issue I have to get over my whole fear of cars and get on with it!!!)
Stop wishing I could run away and buckle down for a while? life is shit anyway?!

Jizz In My Pants!!

Got this from a random old mate, over the other side of the pond in the big apple. It made me laugh soo hard that I .....

Beat the credit crunch!!

Google are not predicting a drop in profits, (In fact it looks like they are making more profit) and they continue to innovate with there most recent project, "The Tip Jar" which is using the moderater app, (what is the moderater app?) to make a usefull colection of money saving tips, which you can vote on.

We came up with a few homegrown money saving tips around the dinner table this evening an posted them up online, I will come back to you on there success; but here they are so you can comment below or maybe spot them online one day; I'm intreged to see how they work.

  • "Save water, share baths with family, friends or a neighbor."
  • "Save all your left overs, put them in a pot with a stock cube, cover with water and add some seasoning, boil for ten minutes, blend and make great soups."
  • "Shop in charity shops, you can find cheap clothes and great bargains and you are giving money to charity!!"
  • "Save the chicken bones and carcass from a roast dinner, boil with water and a few veg to make stock or soup, this can turn a sunday roast into two or three meals."
  • "Shop in the supermarket in the last half hour before it closes to find the best deals and clearance items."
  • "Refill empty plastic water bottles with tap water, get the same look without having to spend a few pounds on a new water bottle every time."

Grimey, dirty, sounds to dance in silence to.

Read about Logan sama over on goldie-locks blog and I checked out his site and fell upon this little you-tube nugget, Grrrrrrimey freestyle from big H & 9 milley major. This shit is sooo underground that they dont even want-ta do it on the radio.

And then stepping away from the underground I got some fresh new stuff on the torrents this week;

"Walking on a dream by Empire of the sun" - is being hyped as one of the best albums of 2009 and although I think it's a great sounding synth pop album, I am stil not impressed enough with its "fuck you" style members and really un-impressive re-hash of 80s pop, I still feel the need for something new to break through. (click to get it for free)

"Ministry of sound's addicted to Bass" - is a three CD extravaganza of mainstream electro/D&B/dubstep remixes and although it pulls together some great tracks I feel this could have been mixed with a bit more skill and a little less name dropping. (click to get it for free)

"Pitchforks Top 100 of 2008" which I think is an esentual addition to your iPod, get this if you were asleep in a barn for the whole of 2008 and you still be the hippest at the iPod flashmob! Tracks include; Portishead, Hot Chip, Friendly fires, little boots and sooooo many more it will make you dance, laugh and cry in one tape. (click to get it for free)
