Wow... what a long time since I posted on here!! I think the connection might have temporaraly been lost.. but now its been fixed I guess I had better get back on it...

For those who follow any of the other social feeds may know whats been going on.. but lets just say I've been working hard, certain priorities have been falling by the wayside.. but Im just getting things sorted... starting to feel less free, time has now come back on the other foot though and I feel like my stream of consciousness is returning. So watch out for more new and improved posts!!

oh yeah.. I was thinking about adding in some of the old food blogs in here as well.. just to make things a bit more interesting and add a little spice to this blog!! Keep it all in one place like I have just done for eca-p.com

This is the final mixtape of this series... that's right people my poor little netbook that I have used and abused for the last year is finally getting a replacement. It has served me well, dropped, thrown, travelled accross europe and screamed at night after night, yet sadly it is about to get replaced with a shiny new bunch of DJ gear. SO I thought it would be appropriate to make a mix tape that really has a message. I have been working on this set for some time.. and will probably re-release it when I have perfected it with the new gear. So this is the end to glitchy, mashy, lets be honest downright rubbishy mixes... and yet here is a thourghbly ear bashing, brain bleeding mish-mash of electro indie and dubstep and I have to say this is the hardest darkest and grimeyest mix of them all.SO say HELLO to the 6 POINT SUPERMAN and Sam A Muze's First Death Electro Mix.

There is also something to say about where the name of this mix comes from... I was browsing my FB account some time ago and was lucky to watch the one of the sickest videos (sick in both good and bad ways) Its not often you see someone who has soo much dedication to there music, lifestyle and scene but Nick Painless from Isle of Wight band Shanklin Freaksow shows that type of dedication by DJ'ing suspended from the ceiling by 6 hooks through his skin. Thanx for the insperation... hope I can stay dedicated too.

PARTIES! Parties are going on everywhere, and here in Chicago we're keeping it wild n' crazy with awesome flashback parties like this Saturday's "Party Monster" themed "DIE TONIGHT" event, a party that will be taking place on the first Saturday of every month at Chicago's very own, brand spankin' new Beauty Bar! (www.beautybar.com) As a resident party-goer, model, and makeup artist, I've been asked to help host and do glitter-tastic makeup for all of the patrons. So by the end of the night, hopefully it'll look like a bar full of Club Kids!

But seriously folks, parties are for real here. No cover, hosted bars, beautiful people. Here's a taste of my week so far (and uh, DURRR I am the female with the crazy curls):

So, as I sit here nursing my hangover, I'm contemplating ideas for glittery makeup purchases for the "Party Monster" event! Also drooling over the lineup... DANIEL HUNT will be doing a LADYTRON set!!! Also spinning are our resident DJs; Dark Wave Disco and Midnight Conspiracy. We've even got Skyler coming to spin, taking a break from the award winning Monday night party, REHAB at Debonair Social Club. REHAB beat out weekly parties all across the country for Paper Magazine's Nightlife Awards!

And with that, I'm off to get myself put together for the day.

I was going to write about a new electro artist; then I realised that it might be more interesting to write about an Electro-blog that I have become a massive fan of; Recently I heard someone say that there are 20'000 electronic music blogs accross the internet; and it sometimes seems almost impossible to find one which constantly delivers quality elctro bangers. Yet it seems like once or twice a week these guys just post an awesome number of tunes from undiscoverd and well known artists that just blow my ears, and often my load too.

The writing is reminiscent of a 15 year olds wet dream, with more sexual references than redtube, yet if you unerstand it, its humour and tone walks hand in hand with grimy hard electro tunes that it shares, and sometimes its relevent too. OK so it is a French language Blog; pushing it up the hipster scale many notches; but you don't need to understand French to enjoy the great tunes that these guys share. Just add it to your reader and enjoy it.. what more do you want me to say??

I really want to start posting more original material, but I'm slow at producing it. I feel like I might be missing out as a blogger and you lot will be missing out as my readers too.. so as I start crafting my next little podcast I thought I would just like to try and keep you up to date with a few of the tunes that I'm digging. I do seem to have heaps more tunes recently, it seems as though if you get behind for just a second my DL box just gets packed... so I have to really keep on top of it...

Anyway I was trying to work out where I procured this little gem bordelais, I think it was from chute des strings, but it is deffinately a great intro tune from these (fairley) fresh producers, nice synth work and of course good Geometry. I was actually wondering if they had anything to do with the hard-tek heads I knew as a kid in Bordeaux, they lived in a bus and had a very odd array of old computers and even older synth's.... anybody know??

Nerk & Derk Leyers a couple of wonky clubland producers from Berlin... havent really found out too much about them yet but they definitely have some pretty cool tunes on there myspace (and they have wierd names =D). I like the tune purely for its use of samples from mars attacks, its great its bouncy bass is harmoniusly paired with UFO sounds and the evil little green mens lughter... made me smile and shake my booty.

I really dont think I like the new Crookers album.. as a whole it feels a bit too comercial, a bit too disjointed, it feels like they have just attempted to pack in as many big-name to a artists into the record to make it commercially viable. But what can you expect from a couple of DJ's who have made them selves known to the world via blogosphere promtoed re-mixes an an awsome live act. I like albums to sound crafted, like a musical journey that demonstrates the bands awareness of there surrounding world, a reflection of each musicians inner-self... but cummon how many of those do you see?? From crookers I expected something that sounded more like one of there live sets... but who would buy that record?? Anyway there are a few floor filling tunes on this record and here is one of my fave remixes.. talk about big-names here are three of the biggest electro names in the last couple of years on one track.. and sadly I like it

Here is a great little idea for your next music project.. set up a blog and gently update it with original content for a little while, after you have started to get noticed and developed a few followers/readers why not release your own album.... don't sell it... just give it away, and if your not giving enough away; tell the world how you've promoted the whole process, and how successful the techniques are... well, thats an idea that seems to work.

Id and Baobinga, two highly acclaimed producers turned bloggers started bass music blog in 2009 to promote there work and those of there fellow DJ friends. They have just released (yesterday) The Bass Music sessions for a little donation to a good cause or free if you cant afford that.... and let me say its worth the little sign up process. (GET IT HERE) The tunes are blend of afro beat, two step and bass wobble madness, with a few hip hop samples throw in for good measure. You can tell I've only listened to it once soo far, because I feel it is not exactly ground breaking and definitely wont make it into the "Hit Parade" for a little while but it has created a lot of blog buzz and is definitely something to have on your iPod. I just wonder how long it will last. From a blogger/muzeo point of view it is very interesting to see how they are documenting the process of the whole album release, The Dairy of an album launch is giving fans a behind the scene view of how a band goes about getting itself "noticed" in these modern times.

(I shouldnt be telling you this.. but if you hop over to the Electro News fb page you can grab the whole of the Crookers album for free.... shhhh its a secret)

I love watching TV but the brits seem to be un-capeable of making any great shows at the moment... well apart from E4. It seems as though the US have got the monopoly on high quality TV... Well when I say high quality TV; I mean Tv that is entertaining, has a high production value and doesn't involve fat ugly women doing something in front of a group of judges. Every week I bit-torrent my dose of Heroes, Lost, The Mentalist, Spartacus and Fringe and now I have a new one to add to my list... "How To Make It In America"

Is "How To Make It In America" the best Alt TV show since Skins???

Could well be... I think it might take a little more time to see a bit more than one episode. BUT it is HBO which helps, it is also made by the same producers as Entourage which has to be one of my all time fave shows. It tells the story of two young New Yorkers who are trying to make it to the top of there game... like the rest of us.. but we have to dream of living in NY =D The show lets take a glimpse of NY night-life, fashion and art industry, they have managed to include unknown NY artists, skaters and music into a superb blend of television glut that captures the dreams of any wannabe ALT's <-- like me =D

The show was launched with some great viral marketing including a little mixtape featuring Kid Cudi - who also stars in the show. You can also check out the theme song here. And if you cant get enough of this show then why not check out this blog --> they seem to be the best one around.

Burping Super Powers??

Ohhh cool another indie band I like.. hope you do to brooklyn based These Are Powers sound like a marching band with scary Emo girls singing along. I like it, could they be a contender to Crystal Castles??

Although it was Crystal Castles was the first real indie band I loved since hearing Nirvana aged 13, "These Are Powers" have caught my attention because of there ramshackle crazy sound which really doesn't sound like anything else I've ever heard. "These Are Powers" individual blend of noise rock, electro samples and haunting female vocals have hit the spot and I have had there latest EP "Sploshing" has been stuck on repeat all day.

Donovan are'nt just mates with the guys who polish daft punks helmets <-- this is from there fb page, I'm not sure they are aware of the double entendre =D Helmet polishing aside this polished parisian duo have been remixing there way to the top with an impressive fistfull of artists, including Bob Sinclare and Sebastien Tellier in there production portfolio. There personal brand of electro has a lo-fi/lo-esteem/too cool for school French sound, synths tear over dense breakbeat electro to make a come again dance music that will sooth the hips of any dancefloor hipsterrs.

There EP Chord is out on citezen records and there busy working on new material, I noticed that they tweeted getting into a newly revamped studio with fukkk offf. Watch out for these Parisian lads as they will be tearing up a club near you before not too long...

Delphic's new album Acolyte has to be one of this years most exciting albums yet.. I have been listening to it quite intensely the last couple of days, and enjoying it. Synth/electro pop doesn't seem to be getting any worse though I do expect it to start dying sometime at the end of this year. It is defenately comparable to Empire of the Sun's album last year, you have to give a bit of time but once it lodges into your head you really want to hear it again and again. I thought I would write two seperate posts about The Outrunners and Anoraak both artists have been on last.fm playlist for some time, but on doing some research I found that they were both part of the same collective. So instead I am writing about The Valerie Collective based in Nantes the collective started in 2007 was originally about all things great from the 80's, but this blog has since evolved into the marketing machine behind both artists and several other Nante based groups. All the artists in this collective are influenced by the 80's and have Uber-cool French synth sounds, haunting melodies and sunset lyrics. Makes me dream of sitting on the beach sipping cocktails watching the sun come up.

Anoraak - I saw him live in Antwerp a few years back and for a guy hidden behind a bank of synths he had a stunning stage presence and I was wowed into being a fan ever since. Hope you enjoy these tunes I know there a bit old but sometimes you have to write about what you love not whats new and hip.

Sometimes I just want to scream it at everybody around me, and so did Hamburg based producer Bastien Heerhorst, after many failed prods and different musical directions he sat in front of his computer making beats and thinking that the rest of the world could, well, just F off. Fukkk Offf's beats are wicked, I first started to dig his tunes that came via some random hard house torrents. And now every time I'm messing about on Traktor I seem to end up slipping one of his tunes into my impromptu sets. Comedian Azzis Ansari (visit his tumblr) has caught my eye this week. He recently feateured in the film Funny Men and has been on several talk shows in the US. He is hilarius!!

Sundance; Im looking forward to this years sundance film festival, even though it started a few days ago, it is always my fave film festival of the year specially as it seems to produce the most obscure and strangest movies from the US and always has the best shorts. Im looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of The Runaways (about the 70's rock band) and I have deffinately been enjoying the shorts that are currently available on there site... FREE!!

Seeded Buzz; this week apart from working on a new cooking blog I have mostly been trying to get more hits too this blog... I have done quite well for myself and I am now a beta tester for a new blogging promo tool called seededbuzz.com... Im not quite sure how well it works yet but I have found some interesting posts...

People think that internet piracy is less acceptable than watching internet porn. But are these "International information pirates," pushing forward the boundaries of geo-politics, putting an end to conspiricy theories and spreading a message of truth and honesty?

A great presentation from wikileaks founders at the 26th Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin.

Wikileaks.org is a global platform for whistle-blowers, it has been distributing sensitive and secret documents through an annonymous web portal. Due to the sensitive nature of the data that they share they have been attacked by governments and corporations and yet they continue to break more news stories than the NY times or any other newspaper. They are also involved in creating a Data haven, saving themselves from these attacks and censorship and hopefully making the world a better and more honest place. I'm sure that most of you have never heard of WikiLeaks, and neither had I untill I stumbled upon a banner on my favourite bit-torrent site the other day, BUT... Wikileaks.org has run out money... and only you can help them, donate on there website here.

Ever since I discovered peer-to-peer (P2P) networks and had access to thousands of records and hundreds of programs for free. I have been worried and intrigued by the legality of it all... of course it is illegal to steal records, movies and software. But it is there, free for the taking and so easy that with a little bit of research and your soon downloading and mounting iso's, cracking softwear and enjoying a never ending stream of high quality TV and Movies all for free. P2P has changed the world we live in, it has inspired new egalitarian social networking; wikipedia, open source software and cloud computing are all based on P2P models. Yet P2P is under threat from corporations and governments who wish to limit the information that we have access too.

We all remember the downfall of Napster as it was attacked by a conglomerate of entertainment industry lawyers, who all saw a huge drop in there sales due to the free distribution of there software and media. And fair enough they were right; people were stealing and redistributing content. But what they didnt seem to mention was that these huge coperations were using tax havens and finacial dodging to make larger profits, stealing tax dollars from us. Of course Governments have always supported the guy making the big bucks, and will continue to do so for many generations. But with the rise of the internet; with thousands of bloggers and hundreds of charitys all pushing for a freer media, P2P networks and there owners are pushing the boundries to make the world a better, cheaper place. How do you feel about knowing that the latest secret government report can be made available to everybody, anonymously ??

The guys over at WikiLeaks are pushing to create the worlds first data haven... protecting data safety and creating a rule free data hosting space; So what exactly is a data haven?? and how is it going to benifit you as an individual?? Everybody knows what a Tax haven is... its where the rich go to hide from tax bills, its where organised crime protects its money and its where us normal people dream of going for a tax free shopping trip. Wikipedia says;

There are several definitions of tax havens. The Economist has tentatively adopted the description by Geoffrey Colin Powell (former economic adviser to Jersey): "What ... identifies an area as a tax haven is the existence of a composite tax structure established deliberately to take advantage of, and exploit, a worldwide demand for opportunities to engage in tax avoidance." The Economist points out that this definition would still exclude a number of jurisdictions traditionally thought of as tax havens.^[1] Similarly, others have suggested that any country which modifies its tax laws to attract foreign capital could be considered a tax haven.^[2] According to other definitions,^[3] the central feature of a haven is that its laws and other measures can be used to evade or avoid the tax laws or regulations of other jurisdictions.

But what about a data haven?? The definition over at wikipedia is even more vague;

A data haven is a computer or a network that holds data protected from government action by both technical means (encryption) and location in a country that has either no laws, or poorly-enforced laws restricting use of data and no extradition treaties. HavenCo (centralized) andFreenet (decentralized) are two models of modern-day data havens.

I remember reading a sci-fi novel (Cryptonomicon - by Neal Stephenson) about a group of entrepreneurs setting up a data haven when I was a kid. And now that we live in the age that sci-fi novels are coming true, I am excited to find out about this group of do gooders who are trying to set up a data haven for the right reasons. But what will a data haven really become? Will it be a sinister place for internet gangsters to spam us with viruses and hide behind walls of secrecy? Will it be a place where hackers can hide from governments, access our private details and sell them to the world? Or will it be a utopia for human rights activists, and freedom of speech?

Please share your thoughts and comments, I will be researching and writing more about the subjects which I have touched on briefly here in more detail over the next few weeks, and dont forget to do your bit and help out wikilinks.org... or at least tell someone you know about it and spread the message. Ok so I admit that I didnt know shit about them in 2007 but when I was plowing through a bunch of recently downloaded and pirated mp3's. I stumbled upon there recent free release and night by night and I was soon singing along. On there myspace it says there the only arab/jew partnership to have ever existed, there indvidual unique styles leads to a great melange of music which grabs on your first nibble. You will swallow hook line and sinker... and then you'll be 2-stepping across the room to there new album fancy footwork. Chromeo are going to be massive this year NO DOUBT!!

My dad got a solar powerd torch for christmas... no it wasnt irish and no it is not a joke. Neither is this electro/indie band from Dublin, Dark Room Notes have supported Kraftwerk, Ladytron, Calvin Harris, Soulwax and Carl Craig they are about to release there debut single and album and there set too take on the world. I was lucky to get a pre-release of there single from there record label... I am always more sinicle when Im contacted by record labels, I wonder wether they are for real or is it some commercial bull and Im getting sucked into the marketing spin. But these guys and girls have got it right haunting synths, teen anxst lyrics and a gutiar sound left over from the ninetees. In fact the single has a 90's garage band sound but some time along the way they were dragged along to to many by dance clubs, met a pretty girl and borrowed there mates synths. I bet at school they were those annoying kids with long hair, skateboard and Nirvana stuck on repeat. Not the electro maddness of my recent posts, but Im sure you enjoy the Little remix below.

Resolutions for 2010

I love this time of year.. its like a mini rebirth of the world as everybody approaches the final big party before the end and then counts away the final seconds to a fast approaching new beginning. Time for me to make some resolutions.. time to think about what I want to achieve in the next year, and what achieved in the last... and lets be honest 2009 was a bit horrible, credit crunch, family tragedy and general patheticness have left me on a major downer. So here's a list of uplifting self improving things for me to do in 2010, some of you might feel this is all a bit irrelevant and pathetic but putting it here will help me. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010

Go on a detox;

After the over indulgence of the yuletide festivities, its time to go on a detox. No booze, No caffeine, No meat for a month; maybe this will help in mind and body, and I know its going to make me look and feel better.

Get a six-pack (stomach);

I'm sure you've seen those adverts all over the internet advertising the secret way to getting a six-pack in 6 weeks. Well they have inspired me to get one too.. sadly it is not as easy as clicking on the accept button. But maybe in my continued search for the meaning of life this can be a good test of my motivation. (You can some of the e-books they are selling here BOOK1, BOOK2)

Be Nicer;

Some times I find I'm arrogant, Some times I'm not very nice to people, sometimes I'm downright horrible. We wont have anymore of that.. I have decided to be nice to everybody that I meet. We are all human, its time to spread some love.

Be more creative;

More art, more writing, more music, more creating. Time for me to do something creative every day and keep a record.

Have an adventure;

I want to go somewhere and have a real adventure, push myself to the limit. Climb a mountain, jump out of a plane, help people in a far away country. There's loads more stuff to do than just sit in front of my screen and dream.

More magic;

Some of you know me for my magic, some just know that I like to trick people, I think its time for me to take my little parlour tricks to the next level. Practice, practice practice.

Be responsible;

Having avoided as much responsibility as possible last year, maybe its time to take on a bit more responsibility... I'm about to hit quarter of a century.. maybe I should stop acting like a tween.

Be Real;

LOL Sam A Muze is not real.. so maybe that might be a major change for 2010... though I do like having a pseudo.

Small rivers.. great idea just not sure how well it works.. anybody got any advice?? As you may have noticed I am trying to be more pro-active on my blog recently, and it seems to be working slowly... yet I still need help promoting this blog, maybe some web-wizard is going to fly down and help me :D

Still think that the web is starting to get taken over by the governments and evils of this world. Maybe small rivers can help us smaller time bloggers get noticed.. hope so!!

....on a more interesting note I updated all my house mates iPods today Little Dragon is getting killed at home at the moment.. wish I never gave it to them. OOOh and i got a new flickr account then I went for a walk in brick lane but my camera had no batteries so i couldnt take any pics.. great 1 flickr site with no photos.. that sucks :(

Been following Example for a while.. since he was rapping about shagging girls on myspace, eating Nandos and binge drinking. Nowadays though he has tided up his image, he is still a fun loving english lad but is now colaborating with producers including Herve, Don Diabalo and is doing a UK tour with Lilly Allen. Seems his step towards the mainstream have been super-successful, but his music is still great and the remixes are rocking your socks off.. so enjoy;

Im still not a fan of watching sweaty grown men run around in shorts and cant understand why people throw soo much time and money at it... but then most people dont understand me so who cares.
