Knits???

Are knits back in fashion?? For this winter??? Love this one from Pa:Nuu hope I get it for x-mas or something :D

Its deffinately a super alt piece of clothing, even if your mum and dad were rocking them back in the seventies... what about boring you grandads cardi and rocking out about town??

Got to go scour some charity shops for some cool knits!!!

After a moments surfing, Ive just realised why knits are soo cool, there so 8 bit.... and being a fan of 8bit it makes me think about what I will be wearing this winter. Trippy knits, skinny jeans and big boots (doc martins!!)... and maybe a trippy tea cosy to keep my little head warm...... need to get my mom to knit me a mario one or something.

What about tea cosys... there knits too!!! Actually I am soooo calling my next band "the trippy tea cosys" the first mixtape will be called "english breakfast blend" and the first single ... "earl grey's gay"... mmm Im thirsty going to find a nice cuppa now.

La route est... lange????

After my massivly emo blog last time, I've decided to go with something a little more uplifting. So I have scanned the blogosphere in search of some cool remixes for you to grab before google rips down all the available free downloads. Also there are is this crazy pic ubove from someone who obviously has waytoo much time on there hands :) Strange questions and my crazy comments...
too start with grab these great La Roux tracks, I love her, even if she is POP as hell..... mmm am I bulletproof??

In my little scan of the blogosphere it is intriguing to see that the tunes that we were sweating away too last year are just beggining to surface, I stumbled upon a proxy tune that I remember listening to on one of my first nights out in antwerp were we saw them play live. It is still an underground banger and not a mainstream tune...why is that??? its a great song... is it bad marketing on the bands behalf?? or are people so ignorant they are only going to like what there told to like???
DONT YOU LIKE IT??

My ego is coming back along with my confidence and my sexual appetite... thats why Ive been singing this tunre every day!! I cant believe that I hadnt spotted this guy before, but he is deffinately worth rocking out to at the moment. Going to see him on the 30th!!

mmm.. so much more to talk about; single mums, cheap wizz, mushroom season, mind reading and artistic direction being found through the long journey I am following right now....
I need you all to comment, I need you tell your mates about this stuff so as to increase my reader base.... I think I still want to take over the world!!! [... sadly Im locked in the kitchen most of the day, so my few moments of freedom are often spent relaxing not running around working :( ]
I want to know more about the IOW music scene.. where are the phat blogs?? sound systems?? free studios?? whos promoting?? whos remixing?? who's creating anything worth listening too??
... or is there really nothing on this god-forsaken island??

Tu me manque... Ik mis je.

do you miss me?
'cos i miss you

I dont want to write a list
but youll get the gist.

I see your eyes some times
accross the bar,
but your so far, away,
you wink at me through someone else
you smile but I turn away

"I miss you too," you say.

Dont think, Im crazy, I miss breakfast in bed,
breakfast in america, too.
breakfast in bed for two
cheese on toast
champagne for a toast.
its warm the pain
of lies and love...

mostly love
it filled my belly with butter
flies me so high
there was no need
for pennies and cents
it meant,
no need for weekly meets,
hourly was not enough,
shared fun and tears,
and daily chores
hardship,
easy-ship,
no fun,
mill run,
day in,
day out,

So why dont you reply,
keeping it all bottled up?
Im keeping bottled up,
but it doesnt help,
please reply.. it'll be easy
you dont need something to say
I know im crazy...
about one thing
who?
its... you..

My computers broke, it has a little problem reading mp3s and video. I cant make any beats, so I've taken to writing poetry... not bad... not the first effort though.

Sorry for the wait, here is the Purple Cauliflower

Wow... no wonder people were asking for an update; its been a long time since I posted here, its been a long hard slog of a summer, and when we thought it was nearly over we are still ploughing on cooking for 100 plus people a night.

My nerves are shot, my fingers are coverd in cuts, my legs in bruises. I cant sleep anymore because I think I have PTS, I dream re-ouccuringly of peoples faces melting and the evening service that wont never end, its hot and all I can here is
"check on.... CHECK ON!"
"Chef theres no more food in the fridges"
but he just wont listen...

But there have been some good things to come out of it, I have biceps for the first time, and although I ache I feel fitter and harder than ever before, I can run and not get out of breath, I can talk shit like a true hardend chef and I can peel 25kg of spuds in under 40 minits. Good news tho from the kitchen, we have been awarded with a brief passing comment in the good food guide... not a full review because the inspectors only arrived on the island a few weeks before the book was published. But it did give us a little boost, its not like we ever get any positive reinforcments from our chefs... if we can only keep on improving our dishes and our standards of service then we could be looking at a good little rating by next year. Hopefully better than 2/10 which heston got for his Little Chef.

My friend asked me today "are we ever going to get 3 rosettes??" I said I dont know, I just dont know what it means. . . .

Three Rosettes are awarded to outstanding restaurants that demand recognition well beyond the local area. The highest quality ingredients receive sympathetic treatment, and there is consistent timing, seasoning, and judgement of flavour combinations. You can expect excellent and intelligent service, and a well-chosen wine list.

We have got our new menu up, its great, seasonal, fresh and stunning. The scallops are served with cauliflower puree and shallot rings. The porc tasting plate is delicious combination of shoulder, loin, crispy fried cheek, black pudding and slow roast root veg. Sadly though there is no purple cauliflower, we are not quite there on the hipness, although I did persuade the chef to make a violently purple beetroot puree to go with our salmon dish, which looks great. Any way have to get back to work ive got stocks to pass and a soup too blend hope you are all salivating for the next episode......

OhMG!!!! Oh.....MGMT

Hop over to gastrokid to get more stories about life in the kitchen,
and purple cauliflower.

There was a memo up in the chefs office the day before bestival weekend, "please make sure the bar snack is well stocked, the group MGMT will be returning late to the building and will expect room service." What ensued was a joke, the chefs werent exactly sure who MGMT were, while us hipper members of staff started to go a bit mental at the fact that one of the greatest bands of the moment were going to be staying only a few meters from us. Then we argued all evening who are bigger MGMT or The Killers??
what do you think?? I have to say I have little knowledge of The Killers, so that means MGMT must be bigger. ... although I am the first to admit that I dont exactly have a encyclopedic knowledge of all music.

Then neither do the guys over here on the IoW... look what they showed up to at the besty on... grannie mobiles???

I thought it woulld be cool to upload my fave MGMT tune, as well as a few bits of new stuff but all I could find was the new kid cudi track and im not so sure I like it; oh well enjoy ;)

Kid Cudi - Pursuit of Happiness (feat MGMT and ratatat) cheers above the fold for the link :D
